New Oblivion trailer offers more

Oblivion.jpgThe new theatrical trailer for Oblivion gives us a little more of the story through the voice of the Morgan Freeman character but without giving away too much of the story, a subtle but important point that means this trailer shows us the most so far but doesn't seem to reveal anything that would spoil the film.

Oblivion looks like it has lots that could be spoiled as well, there's the hint of a big secret in there and while you can guess at what it could be there are no real pointers to reveal what it actually is, and that's a good thing.

That's what we want in trailers, suggestions, vague clues, but nothing revealing, and that's what the trailer for Oblivion gives us.

Here's a quick write-up I did for the non-spoiler overview of Oblivion.

Humanity has left Earth after a terrible war with an alien race waged across the planet, a war that humanity won but Earth lost. A soldier is sent to Earth to be part of a crew who stay high in the atmosphere and return to the surface only to repair the sentry drones whose job it is to clear the creatures that have begun living there, cleaning up the planet for an eventual return.

The soldier becomes attached to the past history of Earth and with what humanity once was, growing more and more attached to the planet and curious about the old Earth. During his stay begins to learn the truth about the planet and the operation when he discovers a crashed ship and its contents.

Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Olga Kurylenko and Melissa Leo all star in the film which is adapted from the Joseph Kosinski and Arvid Nelson comic book, adapted by Kosinski, Karl Gajdusek and Michael Arndt, and directed by Kosinski - one thing that makes it is a clear vision of the original idea.

Here's the latest trailer for Oblivion through TrailerAddict, it does look really good:
