The World's End trailer arrives

TheWorldsEnd.jpgNot sure what The World's End is? Well it's the third film from the team who brought us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and after watching Hot Fuzz again just the other day I really can't wait to see this one.

The plot is pretty simple, it's an end of the world, alien invasion type story, but with a group of friends on a pub crawl that they are determined to end. Now drink responsibly as the trailer says.

Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright have written The World's End with Wright directed and amongst the regular duo of Pegg and Nick Frost we see names such as Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike and Eddie Marsan, a cracking line up.

The plot for the film goes something like this:

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub - The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.

I like the set-up of the film, something many of us can relate to, the group of old friends getting together to recreate the legen-wait for it-dary nights out of old, nights that have somewhat grown in the mind's mythology. However I don't relate to the alien invasion bit, although my head has felt probed during some mornings.

Here's the trailer through TrailerAddict for The World's End. I don't think it's the best that it could be and I'm hoping there's much more to come.

I've watched the trailer a good 4 or 5 times now, and its looking good. Running jokes, ace casting, I'm sure the scripting and editing are up to scratch.

Shame its the last one, could there be time for an extra cheeky one? Hope so. Hope its also film of the year.
