Iron Man 3 trailer, getting too big?

IronMan3.jpgI just watched the new trailer for Iron Man 3 and I have to admit I'm a little underwhelmed. What I did like is the fact that there seems to be a lot of dramatic weight to the film and that there's a worthy opponent for the superhero, however there's some bad in there too.

I mean is it me or does Iron Man seem to be tackling the American accented, Chinese, Osama Bin Laden? Plus, doesn't it get a little too big?

I know it's early to judge the film based on the trailer but it's all we have selling it to us, and what it's saying is that they've decided to up the ante from the previous films and the best way to do it? The old Hollywood axiom of "bigger and more", and the best way to reflect that is more Iron Men, lots more.

I guess this has already been brought in the story line before but now it looks like it's being brought back, it's just that the final scene seems a little too much.

Still saying that there's the rest of the trailer to go on and it looks darker, more personal, and offers Stark much more dramatic weight.

Plus there's the American accented Chinese terrorist leader which seems to be pitching things a specific way. Maybe it's just me that interpreted the trailer that way, and bear in mind I've never heard of the character before Iron Man 3 came along, but it does seem as though it's being pitched as an unstoppable terrorist leader versus superhero.

Here's the blurb for Iron Man 3:

Iron Man III pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

I do like the tone of the trailer and how strong the baddie is being made, but I wonder when the Avengers will appear and help him? After all he does have them all to call on now doesn't he?
