While the names of Jason Keller and Miles Chapman as the writers for Escape Plan might not mean much to you, Keller wrote Machine Gun Preacher (Filmstalker review), there are some names in Escape Plan you will know and it's not just the big guns of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Mikael Håfström directs the film, you should remember him from Derailed (Filmstalker review), 1408, Shanghai and The Rite, and there's also Jim Caviezel, Amy Ryan, Sam Neill, Vincent D'Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and 50 Pence.

The story is about, well let me give you the plot outline for Escape Plan:

Ray Breslin is the world's foremost authority on structural security. After analyzing every high security prison and learning a vast array of survival skills so he can design escape-proof prisons, his skills are put to the test. He's framed and incarcerated in a master prison he designed himself. He needs to escape and find the person who put him behind bars.

Sylvester Stallone plays Ray Breslin, the security specialist framed and locked up in the high security prison he designed himself, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is the head big man in prison that teams up with him to help him escape and get revenge, that is if he helps him to escape too.

The trailer for Escape Plan, which comes through TrailerAddict, does look good and that's in no small part due to the two big leads, but what I am glad to see is that there aren't loads of jokes and silliness throughout it all. Yes there's some of that humour but it's not laid on too think and dripping with it.
