I missed this when it came out but it’s still worth mentioning, the teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World which brings us right back to the universe and delivers a twist in the tale with a return of the original faces including Loki.

There’s a lot of talk of sacrifice in this film which suggests that Thor might have to lose something that is very close to him.

Here’s the outline for Thor: The Dark World:

Thor battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor” and "Marvel's The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Sounds pretty dark, as do most of the second films in trilogies these days, but it also looks good and the bringing in of Loki without forgetting what had happened in Avengers Assemble (Filmstalker review) before is continuing the crossovers between films and doing it well.
