New The Bling Ring trailer

TheBlingRing.jpgI’m glad that the new trailer for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring gives us more of the story, when it first started I feared it was going to be more like the teaser which gave us nothing but a little bit of style and a sexed up Emma Watson.

Of course there’s a lot more to it than that and this new trailer has that throughout, along with the other cast members Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Claire Julien, Taissa Farmiga, Leslie Mann and more.

The film tells the true story of the group called The Bling Ring, a team of young people who were obsessed with money and celebrity and began breaking into the homes of the Hollywood elite and stealing from them.

Apart from being drawn to just how sexy Emma Watson looks and why that feels wrong on so many levels, I’m also taken aback by just how dumb her character is when trying to explain herself.

Here’s the trailer for The Bling Ring which comes through and Deadline:

It’s interesting that not many people are talking about this as being a remake since the story was already told in the 2011 television film The Bling Ring which starred Jennifer Grey.

Steve McCroskey: Jacobs, I want to know absolutely everything that's happened up till now.
Jacobs: Well, let's see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.
