The Numbers Station trailer, action Cusack

TheNumbersStation.jpgI like John Cusack and I like him when he's in an action thriller as well, and his latest film The Numbers Station has a fair amount of thriller to it although I'm not entirely convinced by the trailer which features many of the standard beats.

The explosions and shots like the one shot exploding car are the standard fare, but the story of The Numbers Station itself and the shots inside the building are the ones that offer the most to the viewer.

Here's the blurb for The Numbers Station which stars John Cusack and Malin Akerman in the lead and Liam Cunningham and Lucy Griffiths in supporting roles. What I'm interested in though is the fact that Kasper Barfoed is directing the film, the Danish director has recently been working on the Dutch television series Those Who Kill.

Here's the blurb for The Numbers Station:

After his latest mission goes wrong, veteran CIA black ops agent Emerson Kent (John Cusack) is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding Katherine (Malin Akerman), a code operator at a top-secret remote CIA "Numbers Station" where encrypted messages are sent and received. When an elite team of heavily armed assailants lays siege to the station, Emerson and Katherine suddenly find themselves in a life-or-death struggle against an unknown enemy.

Now here's that trailer which comes through TrailerAddict, see if you think it offers something more.
