What Richard Did delivers a powerful trailer

WhatRichardDid.jpgWhat Richard Did has a fantastic trailer that has really sold me on the film that I know very little about and is due for a release in Ireland on the 5th of October. The film is written by Martin Campbell who has been writing for the television series Shameless and directed by Leonard Abrahamson who also directed the rather well liked Garage.

The trailer is edited together beautifully without revealing anything from the film itself but setting a superb tone which looks moody and suggests that the film is going to deliver a strong dramatic story.

Here's the blurb for What Richard Did:

What Richard Did follows Richard Karlsen, golden-boy athlete and undisputed alpha-male of his privileged set of South Dublin teenagers, through the summer between the end of school and the beginning of university. The world is bright and everything seems possible, until in one summer night Richard does something that destroys it all and shatters the lives of the people closest to him. Featuring extraordinary performances from its mainly young cast, What Richard Did is a quietly devastating study of a boy confronting the gap between who he thought he was and who he proves to be.

Couple that intriguing blurb with the emotive and superb looking trailer and I think What Richard Did looks a superb film, and believe me it has nothing to do with the name in the title.

I'm not just intrigued by the blurb and the promise of some dark secret that destroys lives, something that always makes for a great dramatic story, but also because of the mention of the young cast and how well they do.

The film recently showed at the Toronto International Film Festival and is receiving some good reviews, have a look at the trailer and see how you feel about it afterwards.

The trailer for What Richard Did comes through TrailerAddict:

I hope it gets a UK release soon.
