LUV trailer hits hard with superb cast

LUV.jpgThe names behind LUV might be new but the cast assembled in front of it and the trailer is hugely impressive. The film looks like it's going to deliver a superb performance from Common as well as, hopefully, the rest of the cast.

The film and Common himself have been receiving some positive comments from recent festival screenings and the trailer backs that up as it shows a film increasing in dramatic and emotional weight. Plus it also stars Dennis Haysbert, Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton, Michael Kenneth Williams, Lonette McKee and Meagan Good.

Here's the blurb for LUV which sets the tone for the impressive trailer.

An 11-year-old boy gets a crash course in what it means to be a man when he spends a day with the uncle he idolizes in LUV, a poignant and gritty coming-of-age story featuring standout performances by Common, Danny Glover, Dennis Haysbert, Charles S. Dutton and newcomer Michael Rainey Jr. With his mother in rehab and his father out of the picture, young Woody Watson (Michael Rainey Jr.) lives with his grandmother (Lonette McKee) in suburban Baltimore and longs for his family to be reunited. His charismatic Uncle Vincent (Common) has recently returned home after eight years in prison, determined to straighten out his life by opening a high-end crab shack that will establish him as a solid citizen with a legitimate future. Soon Vincent finds himself pulled back into the violent world he is trying to escape- and Woody has to decide whether to follow his hero- or become his own man.

To be honest I didn't read the blurb before watching the trailer and it was purely the trailer that won me over to the film. So let's cut to the chase and see Common in action with the LUV trailer from TrailerAddict:

This is definitely going on my to watch list, unfortunately it's only released in the US on November the 9th, not the UK.
