Update: Heartless official trailer online
We'd already seen some of Philip Ridley's Heartless with Noel Clarke talking about the film, promoting it before we get to see a few shots, however this new trailer has a lot more to it, a lot more of the film, and a reveal of the story.
Ridley wrote The Krays, and in Heartless he has gained the talents of the British actors Eddie Marsan, Jim Sturgess, Timothy Spall, Noel Clarke, Clémence Poésy, Luke Treadaway and more, and the trailer is worth watching.
As I said before the film follows a man called Jamie Morgan, played by Jim Sturgess, who has a large birthmark upon his face. It affects him physically and mentally and is something that he would get rid of in a heartbeat. He discovers that amongst the gangs of his neighbourhood there are demons, real life demons, and it would seem that he makes a deal with the devil to be good looking and remove the mark from his face.
Heartless is coming to the cinema on the 21st of May for a limited release and a mere three days after that it'll be seen on the shelves. However you can see it at the Glasgow Film Festival if you so desire on the 19th of February.
In the meantime have a look at the full trailer over at the horrendously put together through the excellent Quiet Earth. I say that because you can't link directly to the trailer or embed them, and try that link in a few days and there'll be another trailer there, in a few weeks you won't even see Heartless on the list and it'll be advertising something else, not fair on productions like Heartless either.
I'll get the embedded trailer up as soon as I can. In the meantime what did you think of Philip Ridley's Heartless trailer?
