Casey Affleck is filming Joaquin Phoenix the rapper.
And Philip Seymour Hoffman is trying his hand at directing.
Keanu Reeves is confirmed as starring in a live action film adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. He will play Spike Spiegel, one of a bunch of bounty hunters, travelling through space in 2071. It was originally a Japanese anime TV series. The news comes from Variety.
The Thing prequel may have a director. Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. is said to be directing the film. The news is from Bloody Disgusting, through First Showing.net. His plan seems to be that the main character in the prequel, will be the brother of Kurt Russell's character in the original.
As we know, Joaquin Phoenix has retired from acting to pursue a music career. What we didn't know is that he is launching himself as a rapper. Have to say I didn't see that coming. Documenting his musical career, will be his friend Casey Affleck who is filming the journey. Coming Soon, say that Phoenix will make his debut at a Las Vegas club on Friday.
Philip Seymour Hoffman is to make his directing debut with Jack Goes Boating. Amy Ryan is to co-star with him, in the film which is based on an Off Broadway play. Variety describe the play as:
an unconventional romantic comedy about two misfits in New York City, laced with cooking classes, swimming lessons and illegal drugs.
