Stallone, Statham and Li in Expendables

Stallone.jpgThere's a new action film coming to the big screen, which shouldn't be a surprise to you all but the casting list will be. We're heard that Jason Statham and Jet Li are reteaming on the film The Expendables, but do you know who's in talks to star along with them?

Well you will if you read the headline, Sylvester Stallone.

That's a superb line up. Jason Statham and Jet Li work well on screen together and they are both action stars in their own right, and with a hero of the action film joining them, this could be one hell of film.

I'm a big Sylvester Stallone fan anyway, just for everything he's accomplished in life and the fact that, as Statham reflects in the early years of his career, he's also a damn good actor, he just rarely gets the roles to push him. Yes I keep saying it, Cop Land, there I said it again.

Well I doubt this will be one of the films that pushes him, but The Expendables will deliver some more much loved action from this superb line up of action stars. I mean how much better could this get? Oh yeah, Van Damme, Arnie and Willis? Well, this is good step forward.

The film, according to Variety, will see a team of mercenaries on a mission in South America to overthrow a dictator.

Doesn't sound as though there's much to it yet, but it does seem a similar idea that we're seeing in a lot of films just now, big profile cast, group of different soldier types brought together for a mission, you know what I'm saying here.

Oh, there's something I missed out of this, Stallone wrote the script for the film and he's going to direct it too. Now that should be the final, most exciting part to this. Do you think he's making his own version of a film about a group of soldiers when he wasn't cast in another high profile one?
