I never saw this short film when Saw came out, but it's apparently been seen quite a lot. Have you seen this Saw short? Okay, I'll stop with all the see-saw comments and get on with it.

In order to get the backing to make the Saw films Leigh Whannell and James Wan made this short film to sell the concept, and it actually does that rather well.

You can see the similarities with the films and how the concept was so strong from the beginning. Have a look and see what you think, I think it's particularly interesting for those of you who are actually fledgling film-makers.
