Finally, Sweeney Todd reveals musical side

SweenyTodd.jpgIt has been ages coming and it has been hidden from every trailer we've seen, but now, finally, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has shown some of a musical number on screen, and I have it right here for you to view.

Johnny Depp appears in the video and is seen singing in the studio intercut with scenes from the film.

He looks great and sounds superb too, however the whole lip syncing thing always bothers me in musicals.

The song is recorded and then on stage they sing along with the track, except if they don't sing and they just mime you get this slightly false feeling when you're watching it and he does look like he's miming to a track, like it does when you see a singer on TV on a so called live performance.

That does annoy me, but apart from that you have to admit that he does sound rather good. Anyone seen the stage version and can comment on this performance by Johnny Depp?

This trailer is over at MyMarketingSpace and was found through Empire. You can see the other trailers for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Filmstalker here, here and here.
