Well it's finally confirmed, what all you Fast and the Furious fans out there wanted may well come to pass as the news arrives that Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are in negotiations to star in the fourth Fast and the Furious film which Justin Lin is considering whether or not to direct.

What's more is that there are some concrete details on when and where the filming will be, so it is most definitely on.

I think if both Paul Walker and Vin Diesel decide to team up then I could see Justin Lin leaping at the chance, after all these guys did make a great pairing in the original film, a paiting for which they won an MTV Award for Best On Screen Team, an award which I think was voted for by the MTV viewers.

That glowing endorsement aside (ahem), they do make a great team and having the two of them back would be more than Justin Lin could refuse surely. I think we'll see all three of them on the project and announcements really soon.

The other news from Reuters through is that the film will be shooting in L.A., Mexico and Dominican Republic, and filming is expected to begin in spring. Details of the cars are being kept very secret it seems...or they just don't know yet!

Interestingly, at the bottom of the story they say that Justin Lin is on board to direct. Now I think that's slightly premature as it wasn't that long ago he was saying he wasn't sure, but I think it'll be a foregone conclusion. Chris Morgan is writing the screenplay, he also wrote Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
