Withnail & I is a mere twenty years young, although with the amount of alcohol that they've consumed they look a lot older. To celebrate the fact, Channel 4 On Demand are giving you the chance to download and watch the film for free. Not only that but I've got a cracking video interview with Richard E. Grant and a short clip from the film.

"Withnail: Right, here's the plan. First, we go in there and get wrecked, then we eat a pork pie, then we drop some Surmontil-50's each. That way we'll miss out on Monday and come up smiling Tuesday morning."

Withnail & I is a classic piece of cinema starring Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann as two unemployed actors in the sixties who decide to leave their Camden flat and head for the countryside. However they soon realise that their survival skills are rubbish and their drinking is getting quite out of control.

"Withnail: [having just drunk a bottle of lighter fluid] Got any more?
Peter Marwood: No. I have nothing.
Withnail: Liar. What's in your toolbox.
Peter Marwood: Nothing.
Withnail: Liar. You've got antifreeze.
Peter Marwood: You bloody fool. You should never mix your drinks."

I've tested out the service on 4oD to watch a couple of episodes of Hollyoaks - I know, give me a break, it's fun! - and the service works a treat. You can download films and TV programmes to watch for later or watch them live.

So if you fancy it you can head over to Channel 4's 4oD and all it needs is a simple install and you're started. The only problems just now are it needs IE5.5 or greater, Windows Media Player 10 or over and Windows XP or Vista. Of course you have to be in the UK or Eire and have a broadband connection.

Other than that it's simple. Oh, and if you're mad enough, you could always try the Withnail & I drinking game...I know I'm Scottish but even that list scares me. Oh, and remember, please drink responsibly, this film is a warning!
