Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes have both signed up to star in The Reader. The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name. It is set in modern Germany where a man recounts his obsessive love affair with an older woman post WWII. He never expects to hear from her again but she returns in shocking circumstances.

Variety brings us the news of Kidman and Fiennes' new project. It will be directed by Stephen Daldry, who also directed Kidman in The Hours. The producers include Anthony Minghella who worked with Fiennes on The English Patient and Kidman in Cold Mountain. It really is a small world.
