Update: The Invasion trailer online - now viewable for all
I'm really not impressed. Once again another new trailer is online which I can't see. This time it's the trailer for the much awaited Invasion, but because of some inane reasons that the site hosting it have, in the UK we're told:
"We're sorry, the clip you are trying to play is not currently available in your area."
This time it isn't MTV, who are bad for branding every single one of their clips as US and Canada only, no this is Moviefone who are equally as pedantic. You would think that studios would realise how restrictive this is on the modern Internet.
I don't know if you can see it in your area, and which areas are banned from seeing it exactly, but it would be good if you could let us know so other readers can find out if it's worth wasting their time and giving them the advertising hit or not.
The Invasion is the film that has suffered a number of name changes, the flat denial that it isn't a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and some reshoots for the ending portion of the film from James McTeigue. The original director is Oliver Hirschbiegel, and the film also stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeffrey Wright and Jeremy Northam.
Now I could have embedded the video over the page, but I'm not going to, instead you can try to see it over at Rope of Silicon, just remember if you're in the UK you definitely won't be able to. Give it a go and if you get stopped from watching it please add in your country in the comments here so we can warn others.
I'll give you a shout as soon as someone has ripped it and put it on YouTube. If you are lucky enough to see it, let us know how it looks.
Update:
Well done to the wonderfully named MaceWinduCleaner - I love that name - who has found the trailer on YouTube for us. It's right here over the page, and it looks superb, but I have to tell you, it most certainly is Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
