Haggis to rewrite Bond 22

PaulHaggis.jpgPaul Haggis is signed up to rewrite the Bond 22 screenplay, reviving the writing team from Casino Royale, not really much of a surprise as the Producers would be insane to turn away from the magic that helped bring that superb Bond film to the screen.

I'm actually not sure if we already knew that Haggis was set to write the script, we knew that both Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were writing the script as they did with Casino Royale (Filmstalker review), but I don't recall hearing that Haggis was back on board to rewrite their completed script.

The LA Times has the story and also reiterate the rumour we heard the other day regarding possible directors that were lined up for the film, interestingly Paul Haggis himself was once offered the opportunity to direct, but he turned it down.

I have to say I love Haggis, in both senses of the word. Bringing back the writing team on this film is the best bet for the Producers and the Bond franchise, however the big uncertainty is the Director, and picking the wrong one could result in a completely blown film, no matter how good the script.
