DreamWorks confirms Shrek 4 and 5!

Shrek.jpgThe CEO of DreamWorks Animation, Jeffrey Katzenberg, has revealed the plans for Shrek, and they don't look good.

It seems the previous rumour of Shrek 4 being a prequel and showing the green ogre arriving in that swamp is right, and not only that but there's going to be a Shrek 5 too.

"Ultimately we will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in that swamp. We will reveal his story...

...It's a finite story, has been from the beginning and I think that's part of its integrity, part of its strength, that we're not thinking this up as we go"

The disheartening story comes from IMDB. Yes it's true there are going to be two more films, and they really aren't milking it or making it up, there's a plan, really.

He goes onto try and convince everyone it's not about the money...well I'm confused because the story is struggling, and why do we need to go back and totally expose the back story of a character we've come to really love? Surely that takes away all the mystique?

Anyway, does it matter what the story is? Are the jokes beginning to wear thin? Are they going to survive another two films?

The green ogre never dies! I have yet to see Shrek 3 though I enjoyed the first two. Hopefully, the quality of the 4th and 5th won't take a huge dip though the Third hasn't been getting amazing reviews.

The jokes between ogre, donkey and existing characters are done. A prequel makes the most sense(if they have to keep going that is) and "might" just be entertaining.

They have to keep mike myers of course.
