del Toro to direct Deadman?

GuillermodelToro.jpgGuillermo del Toro has hired a writer to work with him to create the Deadman comic character for the big screen, and if anyone can bring comics to the big screen successfully it's this man...and Zack Snyder of course.

Gary Dauberman has been hired for the job according to Empire, and if del Toro likes the script he may well rearrange his schedule and leap into the directors chair.

Deadman, according to Wikipedia, be warned the full Wikipedia article is full of potential spoilers, here's a friendly excerpt:

...is a ghost, formerly a circus acrobat named Boston Brand, who was murdered during a trapeze performance by a mysterious assailant known only as Hook. His spirit was granted the power to possess any living being by a Hindu goddess named Rama Kushna, in order to search for his murderer and obtain justice. However, Brand found himself obliged to help others while on his search, using his power to intervene and control living persons to help the innocent.

It does sound an exciting stort, and one that's right up del Toro's street, death, darkness, and lot's of grey areas instead of filled with black and white characters.

What do you think? Have you read Deadman and can you give us an insight?
