Casting: Maggie Q, Rachel Bilson, Tonight He Comes

Bilson-WonderWoman-Small.jpgThere are a few short snippets of casting news this morning. Maggie Q in The Tourist, Rachel Bilson in (no, not Wonder Woman) Jumper, and Peter Berg confirmed for Tonight He Comes with Charlize Theron rumoured.

Maggie Q is joining the already strong cast of the sex industry story The Tourist. From Variety through CinemaBlend comes the news that she's signed alongside Ewan McGregor, Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams to star in the film about McGregor being introduced to a high class sex club by his lawyer friend Jackman, but things turn bad when he's implicated in the murder of one of the girls.

Rachel Bilson has signed for Jumper, the first in a planned trilogy of films based on the Steven Gould novels about a boy who can teleport himself anywhere by a simple thought and who is being tracked by the NSA to be used for nefarious Government purposes. Samuel L. Jackson, Hayden Christensen and Jamie Bell are already signed up. The story comes from Variety through Coming Soon.

Peter Berg has now been confirmed as the latest director to grace Tonight He Comes (let's see how long he stays) according to Variety through Coming Soon. Just a few days the rumour was that he was looking into directing the film. Interestingly they say that the female lead has been rewritten a number of times and made much bigger, thus attracting the interest of Charlize Theron.

...his deal took time as Sony labored to keep a fiscal rein on a film that will have as many visual effects as any superhero movie but a storyline that's far less predictable. Smith's character is a drinking, smoking womanizer whose lifestyle is closer to rock star than do-gooder. The public is as sick of him as he is of them, until he finds a special connection with the married housewife.

Well with those two big name stars onboard the budget is already eaten away!
