News is that Johnny Depp was never involved in I Am Legend alongside Will Smith has arrived today despite the previous rumours, worse news is that the current script is more like Charlton Heston's right to bear arms advert, The Omega Man which is also based on the same novel by Richard Matheson.

This is seriously disappointing, not so much that Depp was never involved, but that the story is just going down the Omega Man route. The original novel has a lot more potential than that and it's rather weak of the filmmakers if they're watering it down this way.
