Filmstalker: Simpsons trailer online tonight

It's pretty much guaranteed that the trailer for the Simpson's film, despite being a year away, will be online by tonight in the US. Why so certain? Well tonight the trailer is playing on Fox Television during the Simpson's itself.

...animated 25-second clip opens on a giant superhero S. "Leaping his way onto the silver screen," intones a narrator, "the greatest hero in American history!" Cut to Homer Simpson sitting on his couch in his tighty whities. "I forgot what I was supposed to say," he says. The narrator continues, " 'The Simpsons Movie,' coming to the screen, July 27, 2007." "Uh, uh," says Homer, "we better get started."

Mmmm...not even close to being a teaser. Still it'll be interesting to see and dtheatre say they'll have an announcement as soon as it's online.

I am really excited about this movie. Who couldn´t be? It will be a box office smash like nothing seen before. But still...

Can they make a good long length movie about a series so well defined in short episodes? It´s really, really difficult when the series is as exceptional as this.

That´s why they have postponed the project as much as possible. Even Wallace and Gromit lost spontaneity in their first feature long film.

But, if the team of people behind the Simpsons take the best of their shelves, they can make tremble and change the whole animation industry, and only for better.
